What is your favorite fighting style?
Capoeira to me is amazing. And I have some experience with Karate, but very minimal. Some other interesting ones: Taekwondo (the more leg use the better for me as I have strong long legs and really weak arms lol), Muay Thai, Savate (yes the French can fight lol), Boxing, Kung Fu (is this actually a fighting style or a Hollywood style?), Jujutsu, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Judo (beware of Putin!), Aikido.
I'm have little knowledge in this, but isn't MMA the competition where u can use whatever style you want?

Help with my insomnia?
Hi,I've been having problems sleeping, and it's affecting my work/social life...
I recently got a job, and I wake up at 6AM to go to work... I try to go to sleep at 10PM, because I am one of those people who need AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep a day. 9 is ideal.
But the problem is, either I don't get to bed by 10, or if I do, it takes me 2 hours to go to sleep. 1130-12 midnight seems to be my natural sleeping hour, no matter what. But waking up at 6 is horrible for me....
I've cut out all caffeine after noon, (I've come down to 1-2 espressos a day as my only caffeine), I have a regular bedtime routine (hot bath, then 1-2 cups of Kava tea or camomile tea before bed), and I exercise regularly. In fact, I exercise after work 2/4 days a week:
Monday: capoeira (get home at 930PM)
Tuesday: free
Wednesday: samba & capoeira
Thurs: muay thai
Friday: free
Sat - Sun: Muay Thai/brazilian jiu jitzu
I try to exercise mostly on the weekends because I understand exercising too close to bedtime is counterproductive, but I find doing muay thai it's such a hard workout that I clunk to bed sometimes...
Mostly I cannot get to sleep before 12, no matter how hard I try. And I end up so tired and worn out during the day, falling asleep at work.....
Any help or advice, please?
I don't go out on the weekends (because I'm so tired from the week) so I go to bed at the same time - 1130-12, but end up sleeping 12 hours....

Is Capoeira a useless martial art?
It just looks like dancing around to me with not much practical value. What are your views?@Showmehowofunk, In stick/knife fighitng and Greco-roman wrestling, you can, even with limited knowledge notice the effectiveness and purpose of the techniques applied.
But with Capoeira it just looks like two drunken crabs dancing around aimlessly. I have seen that video you speak off and the only reason it actually worked was because the opponent didn't even put his guard up or attempt to parry he just stood there and got kicked in the head by one of many inaccurately attempted strikes.

Which do you think is better? Krav Maga or Capoeira?
Ok, I have a tough decision to make. :P I can only afford one class >_<; I gotta choose between my two available and favorite martial arts. Krav Maga, a fast martial art that can get you out of almost any situation, especially with muggers, people with guns. (I live in a city by the way and I ride public transportation, can get dangerous sometimes.) or Capoeira, a beautiful martial art with flips that can also be lethal, but not as fast if you're a beginner.Pytanie #20:

This guy my girlfriend works with at school keeps hitting on her. This has been going on for months, I don't really care about that stuff, but it came to the point where she doesn't know what to do. I don't wanna be a caveman and break his ass, cause I'm the equivalent of black belt in jiu jitsu, capoeira and kick boxing and I would fold him in two. What should I do? this is starting to piss me off, and I'm really trying not to have any comfrontation. He's black and is using that '' Is it cause I'm black'' thing. I'm part black too, but she's white. And she's a sweetheart, so she doesn't wanna be mean. But he doesn't get it. THANKS!Pytanie #22:
I'm so terrified of rape?
Okay, so a few weeks ago, my husband of three years confessed that he had been raped as a child and a few days later, I found out I was pregnant and I still am. When I first found out, I kept having nightmares about my husband being raped but then a couple weeks ago, my best friend said she had seen a really good movie called Last House On The Left. I hadn't told her about my husband's rape because that was his business and I wasn't going to go tell random people and I didn't know what the movie was about. We watched it together and at the rape scene, I was too scared to look away and then I went and threw up and after that, I made her leave and I haven't spoken to her since. Now, I am so terrified of being raped. Every man I look at from my kind stepdad whom I've known since childhood to my favorite uncle to strangers, I immediately think they're rapists and if they are with women, I think she probably helps him with his rapes. I know it's illogical but I can't stop. I can't stop thinking about being raped. I'm so scared that I started carrying a knife with me in public even though we live on a good side of town and every night I have been obbsessively locking up the house and then laying a gun next to my bedside and a cell phone incase I need to call 911. I've never even been raped though someone almost raped me once but my husband, who was then just a friend, beat the living hell out of him. I didn't freak out that much over that. I had freaked out but I just put it in the back of my mind and just did more capoeira to feel safe and went on with my life. But now I can't even leave to go out on a date with my husband. I'm so scared. I feel like I can't trust my friends or my parents. I don't know what to do. And, I keep having nightmares about raping other people and I know I wouldn't do that to anyone. Ever. I just told my husband that all of this was just me being a bit more on edge because of my pregnancy and that I want the baby to be safe. He doesn't know and I don't want to tell him because I'm scared he will be angry because he is a rape victim and if anyone, he should be freaking out but he's not. He's usually really sweet but when stuff about rape comes up, he acts spontaneously different from his usual self. I just have no idea what to do. And all this stress can't be good for the baby but I just can't shake it. I don't want to hurt my baby. Help is appreciated. :-)I forgot to mention that I can't have any sexual contact with my husband either. It freaks me out too much. And I meant he doesn't know about all the rape thoughts, dreams, or the movie.

Is my boyfriend having an affair?
found this email on his face book, I think he was trying to cheat. He even said a song which was supposed to be "our song" reminded him of her. When I confronted him he said he was trying to make friends with this woman. Here it is........hey zena :)
i was just watching a video of tracy chapman on facebook singing smoke and ashes and something reminded me of you. so i thought i would put your name in the search bar just in case, and found a photo of your right eye. well i think it is your right eye so please accept my apologies if you are another zena! you seemed a bit sad when you came into the shop at the weekend so i hope that you are ok. maybe see you again someday :)
HE THEN WROTE HER A 2ND MAIL
hey zena, thank you for writing back. it was a nice surprise. i went to see tracy chapman last week, and she was so beautiful. have you heard her new album? it's called 'our bright future' and i have been listening to it non-stop! my new favourite is 'something to see', which is happy but sad at the same time (a bit like me). glad you are ok and enjoying the sunshine :) i look forward to next time you come into the shop. i might not be there for much longer, though. i also work part-time for a political party, but i have just applied for a full-time job as a researcher for the the same party. I have been working every saturday and sunday at the shop for the past 3 years and would like to reclaim my weekends. although i would miss all the people - it is a very sociable job.
hmm, this seems to be turning into a biography. erm, well i went to a very good private school, then cambridge university but dropped out because i had started smoking a lot of weed. eventually i went back to university and did an amazing degree in anthropology. then i got a bit giddy and decided to be a barrister so i started working with a charity supporting women and children in immigration detention before doing a law conversion course. but i didn't finish the course as i got frightened and confused so i am now studying law through distance learning. i think that makes me an eternal student :) my friends tease me a lot, but i like learning. oh, and my overall masterplan is to be a green party politician and help fix things! and i play capoeira. yay! not sure why i am telling you all of this, but it is now written so maybe it should also be read . . .

I am creating an online dating profile. How does my profile look?
My Self-SummaryMy name is Wally. I am a weird guy who interprets things in a unique ways. I tend to take conversations and drive them in a completely different direction. I am a first year college student studying Mathematics and Engineering. It bothers me when people ask what my hobbies are because I don't really have anything that I would consider my "hobby", but I do tend to dabble in many different things. I feel that I get along with people pretty well. I am often described as odd and innocent... I can't imagine why. Message me sometime, I love meeting new people. Especially bilingual people, language intrigues me.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm not much of a sports fan but I love playing sports and keeping active. My favorite sport to play competitivey is volleyball.
Recently I've taken an interest in martial arts, and I've joined my campus' martial arts club. We dabble with a mixture of fighting styles such as...
-Muy Thai
-Tae Kwan Do
-Kenjutsu
but primarily
-Brazilian Jui Jutsu
and my personal favorite
-Capoeira
I also someday would like to take up free running and parkour.

Do you think I can beat my older brother up?
I'm 19 and I weigh 130 lbs and I'm 5'7 or 5'8, I'm really fast and healthy, I know Some Boxing, some Capoeira, and some Taekwondo, and like 5 or 6 Submission holdsAnd my older brother is 33 or 34 (I forgot his age) he is not slow but he is not fast either, and he is always complaining how much his back hurts, he's 5'6 and 160, he has no knowledge of any Martial Arts, he just punches with his hands and that's it
he has been bullying and picking on me since I was little and is always getting me in trouble because he always tells my mom I'm doing bad things which I never do and one time when I Was 8 he took one his shoes and hit me in the back of the head with it and it left a bump on my head
So do you think I can take him on?
well Anonymous I hate to break the bad news to you but surprise!! I do know some Martial Arts (never in my Question did I say I was expert though) When I was 10 and 11, I had 2 yrs of training in Taekwondo and when I was 16, I did a yr of Boxing, and 4 months ago I started learning capoeira
Well Lex, I actually didn't come on here for encouragement because if I did, I would have the Question worded different like "Do you think I should beat my brother up" which that is not the Question at all, and the time he hit me with a shoe is just 1 of many incidents, he actually beat me up well over 20 times between the ages of 5-10, and at 10 he started to stop but he is still trying to ignitate or start up a fight between me and him (I just want him to leave me alone, but he is constantly in my face, believe me I don't want to fight him but he is just making it really hard for me to hold back)

As for the illadelphia kid, I'm not going to end up in prison or charged for assualt because I'm not the one starting the fight or ignitating the contact so I would be acting out in self-defense, I know how the world works because I pay attention in my classes, like I said I'm 19 not 9

Right so, I'm 16 years old. I've skipped Physical Education for the past 2 years and otehr than the occasional game of football I ain't too active. I've always been interested in Capoeria (A type of dance/martial art) so I attended a lesson last Saturday. It was 1 1/2 hours and I swear I ain't sweated so much in my damn life! Most of all, I actually really enjoyed it!! The only thing is, I felt the blisters forming on my burning feet and I had a real ahrd time walking home. The rest of the day it hurt like Hell to even do the simplest walk. It still hurts, but less and less each day.I'm just wondering if this is normal? If so, any way to prevent it? Also, I really wanna give it my all in Capoeira so would it e beneficial to hit the gym? I also am not the most flexible person in the world (can't touch my toes with my legs straight), and need to increase on that, any tips/help?
At the moment I have exams going on, but they should be done in a month or so, any stuff that I can gradually work up and maximise on in the Summer or something?
That was real long, and this is just making it longer, but if you can help me in any way, Thank you!!

Martial arts for the big people.?
What's a good martial art for a larger person to start up with?Further details:
Basically, I've been interested in martial arts (or starting the learning process) for a long while now, and I figured it was about time I gave it a proper shot.
Two or three years ago I tried my hand at capoeira, which was a disaster, because i'm a big guy; and when I say big I don't mean fat - i'm relatively fit and healthy, but i'm around 6' 3" and approx. 120kg. While I could tackle the stamina training and footwork easily, I had alot of trouble with the flips and headstands etc. I also noticed that most of the people around me were on the slighter side, even the really built guys who were sort of bulging with muscle were barely more than 5' 8" or so. I know that big guys are more than capable of learning something like capoeira, but it doesn't seem like a good entry-level martial art for someone of my size.

Cardio exercises for Capoeira?
I do capoeira 3 to 4 times a week. We mostly work on techniques and different moves. When I get in the roda, though, I can only play one game because I get really, really tired quick. Other then running, are there other cardiovascular workouts I can do to help me not get so tired? I'm trying to cut out the ones that aren't so repetitive like running. Because Capoeira requires a combination of lots of different moves then you you have to change your stances a lot and move your body in many different ways.Pytanie #50:
